Participants will make four benches for the Carver Center's new outdoor playground - see your work in a public space! The workshop will teach skills in assembly, basic woodworking with hand tools, and finishing wood and metal. Benches will become part of their newly redesigned playground! Come help make the Center more beautiful, functional and full of art. A great chance to give back to the community.
The Carver Center is the primary community-based organization in the village of Port Chester, New York. The Center offers programs and resources designed to meet the educational, recreational, cultural and civic needs of children, youth and adults, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of underprivileged youth.
This project will take place at the Carver Center, located at 400 Westchester Avenue, Port Chester, NY 10573, just a short walk from miranda arts project space.

C.U.T.E. Cultivate Uncomfortable Temporary Encounters

Acquaintance-making game and ceramic cup building with help from the Clay Art Center of Port Chester to use at our coffee bar. The Clay Art Center is a nationally recognized non-profit center for the advancement of the ceramic arts.
Faith on the Fourth Floor Fear and Communication

Steve Magneson, director of student ministries at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Rye and is pursuing a Masters in Divinity through Western Theological Seminary. He has worked in ministry full-time since 2008.

Micro-Grant Dinner and Artist Talk
Saturday, October 19th, 5pm
Support an artist! Bring an appetite to this micro-grant dinner, where the price of your meal
helps fund a people’s choice project. This is the culminating event of the month-long C.U.T.E residency.
$15 per person. All proceeds go to vote winner.
Six proposals will be presented at dinner. All are welcome and all proposals will be considered. Submit by Oct 15. Just send a 1-2 paragraph description of your projects, and 5 jpgs, 800 pixels max longest direction, to firstname.lastname@example.org
