Making Ink from Firearms
with Thomas Little and Mickey Mariash
Also included is Ink making using invasive species, local plants and natural materials.
Thomas Little is an artist and the proprietor of A Rural Pen Inkworks, a small operation that makes iron based ink and pigments out of firearms. His process and artwork is informed by philosophies of the alchemical tradition.
Mickey Mariash is a textile and mixed media artist with a focus on natural materials and seeing the good in invasives and trash.

Zines are small DIY books that anyone can make to share art and ideas with others! In this workshop participants will learn how to make two easy book structures that are perfect for zines. We will talk about how to add content for analog and digital reproduction and have materials on hand for participants to add content to their books.
Bio:
Elizabeth Castaldo is a New York based artist, printmaker, and bookbinder. Working with collage, drawing, and printmaking she creates visually abundant works on paper and artist’s books. Her works reflecting on femininity, sexuality, and nature explore pattern as abundance, and the body as a site of action. She teaches printmaking and book arts at Parsons School of Design and the Center for Book Arts.
